The Howard Pollack Award is named in honor of the founder of the National Capital Chapter of Safari Club
International. This is the highest award the chapter can bestow and decisions regarding it should be treated in this
light. The Member of the Year Award is given annually to the person who aided the chapter the most in that
given year. The Howard Pollack Award is only awarded to a person or organization that has dedicated years of
support for the betterment of the National Capital Chapter and its mission.
It is not meant to be a hunting award. Promotion of ethical hunting and conservation should be considered highly.
Any member in good standing can make a nomination for the board’s consideration.
It is not meant to be an annual award, but may be given in consecutive years if the board sees fit. Caution should
be used not to award this too often as this might diminish the honor of receiving this award.
The recipient must be a member in good standing of National Capital Chapter of Safari Club International at the
time of reception. This requirement is stricken if the award is being given posthumously.
The recipient should conduct their affairs, at all times, to shed a positive light upon the chapter.
This award requires a unanimous vote from all board members. A board member may cast an abstention vote.
The requirements of this award may be amended with a unanimous vote of the board.
