On Sunday, Monday & Tuesday, January 1, 2 & 3, 2017; NCC-SCI members
Wayne Graham, myself and my wife Jennifer along with friends and
supporters of NCC-SCI Kris Edney and his father-in-law, Wayne Crane, and
Milan Miadenovic were privileged to join ten (10) veterans on a duck and
goose hunt. Veteran hunters included not one but 2 female veterans and
their husbands. Veterans included: Warren Voshell, Ron Hinkle, Matt Staton,
Robert Ballinger, Sara and Steve Lucas, Denny Phillips, Marlee Havas and
Chris Moroski, and Thomas Quinby. In addition, Mark Hawley, NCC-SCI
chapter and Army Retired Veteran was along as a guide.

Kirby Bryan of Chesapeake Duck and Goose Hunting donated two blinds for
the ten veterans. The hunters stayed in houses rented by Kirby. The hunters
were treated to a fish fry dinner on Sunday evening and lunch fare both
Monday and Tuesday provided by NCC-SCI. Dinner on Monday consisted of
spaghetti and ham. In addition the chapter picked up the cost of each
hunters Maryland hunting licenses and duck stamps.

The chapter has had a long standing relationship with Freedom Hunters.
This relationship grew out of a conversation with Bud Deplachett and myself
at our chapter's Banquet in 2012..

In 2011, prior to the Banquet, Bud contacted my mother (NCC-SCI Banquet
Chair) and offered a flag to be auctioned off in our Live Auction along with a
knife for the Silent Auction. That one phone call has turned into a great
relationship between the Chapter and Freedom Hunters. I am happy to say
that in addition to his work with Freedom Hunters Bud is a member of our
SCI Chapter.
